We're Moving!!!

So Excited!!
After much too-ing and fro-ing with my ever present Pro's & Con's list, we are Moving!!!!
Norman Park has been very kind to us, but it is time to pack up our bits n pieces and move across the River.
We are heading to The New Gasworks Precinct! It is going to be so lovely being in amongst all the exciting new development.
New Restaurants, new stores, all new infrastructure down that end of Teneriffe.
Feeling very grown up and Mature :)

We have a bigger premises and will have a dedicated Consult space for our every busy Interior Design department.
Front of Store will (of course) still sell the most stunning and desirable Home Inspirational pieces.
The Show room will also have our LILY G range of furniture on display.

It will be a New Building and a New Look.

We are moving in little over 2 Weeks so it's all hands on deck to get in before XMas and have all our stunning stock out and ready for all our loyal customers and our new one's.

We will be having an official opening in the NEW YEAR and will be posting regularly on our Face Book page.
I am also off to The Design Bloggers Conference in March so it's going to be an exciting New Year.

Thank You to all my amazing clients and customers that have made the last two years in Norman Park so lovely for me and my staff.
We are just over the bridge and hope to see you all soon!!!

Many a Renovation!!

We are forging ahead on our gorgeous "Old Girl" in Clayfield!!

I have been working on this beautiful home for several months now and the walls and all the details are finally showing through the seemingly chaotic mish mash of framework and trestles.

We have 3 big renovations we are overseeing at present with 2 more in the pipe line. You might not see or hear from me for a while....
Also just got some very exciting news that I have to wait to share!!!

How is this weather? I am so excited it's warming up.

Very Excited

I'm am at the moment supposed to be doing lighting plans, whole house specs for TWO homes and lots of other very very pressing jobs!! But!!! Martyn Lawrence Bullard mentioned me and my work on his twitter so I'm too excited to work!! Have now offered to go work for him as an intern for a month for free.....I would die!!! Anyway that made my Wednesday, which is usually a very ordinary day ha ha xx

Better Photo's!!!

We are getting some professional photo's done at the moment. They look so much better. Will post more when we get them....So many people loving our room!! Everyone commenting on how different it is to the same old same old :) Which is what this platform was for me, an opportunity to have some real fun!

The Brisbane HIA Home Show starts tomorrow. It seems in the Design and Decorating industry when it rains it pours. We had the beautiful install on Monday and now 4 days later we have installed our room at the convention centre. I must say it has taken the logistical maneuvering of a army general.

Monday the floors and lighting was installed, Tuesday our lovely cabinet makers worked until midnight doing our wall panelling, Wednesday our painter went in and today we installed the furniture!! We have a few bits to fill in ....a lovely fern for our zebra head, some extra cushions. But to say we are proud of our room is an understatement. 

My inspiration was Carnival meets Up Town New York. I wanted something fun, happy and a little bit Mad Hatters Tea Party. It's the drama Queen in me!! Anyway lots of action shots to enjoy :) HIA is on from tomorrow until Sunday...if you are in Brisbane come on in and say hello and see our room in the flesh. Big thank you to my hard working, amazing staff....Bella & Laura!! I couldn't have done this without you!! 

Also big thankyou to Craig & Brent from Madders Kitchens...they do all our cabinetry and painstakingly did our wall panelling!! Don't even try and steal them they are very loyal :)

Three Rooms Done

Well it was all hands on deck today! We had a big install at the beautiful home of our client.
First off was hanging the curtains, blinds and all the art work, then up with  gorgeous light which came all the way from the States. Then install of furniture, rugs and accessories, styling and plants!! We had a ball. I must say it is my favourite part of my job when I get to transform a house into a home for a beautiful client.
The beauty of this job is the client trusted me 100% and believed in my vision. Sometimes clients don't trust in the process and that is when problems occur.
Tanya's house was stunning to start with and she wanted something that would stand the test of time, not date too quickly and would be user friendly for kids as well as adults. We created different zones with all custom made furniture, rugs and beautiful one off pieces.
Actually Tanya's home is the first home to carry exclusive Lily G range of furniture.
We put the Co Co sofa in and the Claudette Chairs as well as our Montaque Range in the casual room.
Now we are starting on the upper level and that is going to be stunning...very Hollywood Regency!!

Busy Week Ahead

Wow!! I know I've been away for a spell but I'm back!! I have been prioritising with my life and unfortunately for the blog, but fortunately for my two boys the blog was not on the top of the priority list for a while.
But I am back and busy, busy, busy.
Tomorrow is the start of a new week and I am starting the install for the HIA show here in Brisbane.
Housing Industry Association is holding a massive home and building show and 8 designers in Queensland have been asked to design a 6m x 4m room. I am thrilled with our space and if I do say it is something totally out of the ordinary for me. So keep watching and we will post a plethora of photo's of the room progressing through the week. Tomorrow the floors go in, and then wall panels, lighting and then furniture...very time consuming but heaps of fun and a great challenge and fabulous opportunity for my firm. If you are in Brisbane come and see us we will be on site to have chats and demonstrate how comfy our sofa's are. We are also soft launching our own Furniture line exclusive to Lily G EXCITING!!!
Also tomorrow we have a huge install for one of our favourite clients!! She is going to be so thrilled!! We will also be posting some photo's of the day as it unfolds.
We have already installed a fireplace and painted her walls and tomorrow all her custom made Lily G exclusive furniture will be installed along with some stunning lighting and window treatments!!

Once again sorry for the lack of Blog posts, life has a way of getting Bizzy!! But I have promised myself I was going to spend more time doing the things I enjoy and the blog is one of my treats for me

Lily G New Website and Country Music Rising Star

Well we all survived a tonne of Chocolate and I have just ordered a huge box of fruit and veggies to go on a week long detox fast....I'll see how long I can hold out!! Ha ha!!
Me being the spontaneous girl that I am decided at the last minute that a 2 day break to a child friendly resort was a much better idea than cooking and preparing for a family of 12 for Emerson's Easter Birthday extravaganza. So I have no beautiful Easter table photo's to show, but we did have a fabulous time at The Marriott  and I highly recommend it if you want a family friendly break.
What is news though is that a couple of months back a young Country singer named Jacqui Ryan recorded her music video in my store. She is a lovely, talented girl and we were so delighted that they decided that Lily G was the perfect location for her video..If you ever wanted to see my store Lily G up close and personal and listen to a beautiful song at the same time go here .
More news...Our new Website is up!!! Sooo exciting!! There are a few little tweeks to be done but I couldn't wait (very impatient actually :)) Hope you like The New Look!! Let me know what you all think!!

A bit of sad news the cafe attached to my store has been closed indefinately. My brother (who has been running it for me) has been offered a fabulous job elsewhere and I am too busy with Decorating to give it the attention and investment of time that it needs. I would rather not do something if I can't do it absolutely to the best of my ability so I am closing it pending another tenant wanting to take it on.
We are concentrating on what we do best....Decorating & Design and Home Inspirational pieces.

Easter...Hippity, Hoppity!!

Hippity to the shops, Hoppity to work...The list of to do's is massive...when you have an overwhelming to do list do you; prioritise with doing a few things well?? or broad strokes on as much as possible? I always seem to end up procrastinating and find bizarre things to do like vacuum under the fridge!! ha ha!
Sooo Easter is upon us!
Don't you love Easter all those yummy pastel colours and beautiful table decorating options. Easter has always been a magical time for me and my family and I hope I am passing on that magic to my two boys.
It is Emerson's 6th Birthday the day before Easter so we will be having a combined birthday lunch for Emerson and an Easter lunch for family and friends so I have been stressing over themes....not too pretty and easter-y for a 6 year old boy, but still a seasonal feel.

He does love bunnies so that made it easier...in the end I've decided I'm going to keep it natural and fresh with some rabbits. Will post a photo once I have finished it, but this picture here is a good
illustration of what I am thinking....if it wasn't his birthday I would definitely be doing pastels and marshmallow bunnies.
I do love the simplicity of these daisies and the apple green of the table ware.

So pretty, our Easter tree at Lily G is nearly empty but there is still time to grab some gorgeous hanging eggs.

I'm not sure if I am not just madly in love with this Wisteria...DIVINE!!!

Cloche's are a fabulous way to make even the most mundane item look special..

Gorgeous for an outdoor luncheon...if our weather holds up we are definitely having ours out on the lawn...is it wrong to make everyone wear pastels?? p.s love the faux grass as place mat!!
